Not Everyone Receives the Carnival Cruise Survey

If you sailed with Carnival and never saw a Carnival cruise survey in your inbox, nothing went wrong. Cruise Hive reported in December 2025 that Carnival’s brand ambassador, John Heald, explained that the emailed review goes to about 40% of guests on each cruise, chosen for that sailing — which means most guests on any given voyage are not asked.

The same report noted that the printed comment cards that used to sit in drop boxes near Guest Services are gone. Feedback has moved online, which is quicker for the line to read but leaves the guests who are not selected wondering how to be heard. The rest of this page answers that.

If You Do Get the Carnival Survey

  • It arrives by email after the cruise, sent to the address on the reservation — usually the person who booked, so let your cabin-mates share their views with you before you answer.
  • Expect questions on embarkation, your stateroom, dining, entertainment, shore excursions bought through the line and your overall impression.
  • Name the crew who looked after you. Carnival’s brand ambassador has said publicly that praise for crew is passed on.
  • Use the comment boxes. One clear sentence about what worked or what did not is worth more than any score.

If You Were Not Selected: Other Ways to Be Heard

On board, during the cruise

Guest Services can fix many problems on the spot — a noisy cabin, a billing error, a dietary mix-up. This is where a complaint has the most power.

To your cabin steward or maitre d’

A word of thanks or a concern to the person in charge of that venue reaches the right team immediately.

After the cruise

Carnival’s guest-care team handles post-cruise questions. Keep your sail date, ship and booking number handy.

Through your travel advisor

If you booked through an advisor, tell them. They can escalate on your behalf and note the issue for the next client.

We do not print cruise line phone numbers or email addresses on our consumer sites; your booking documents and the line’s own website carry the current contact details.

How Carnival’s Approach Compares

Sampling guests is a common research method: a random share of each sailing gives the line a reliable picture without asking every passenger. Other lines take a different route. Royal Caribbean’s help pages, for example, tell guests to expect an email survey once the cruise is over, without describing any sampling. Neither approach is better for you as a guest, but it explains why friends who sailed together sometimes compare notes and find only one of them was asked.

If you are choosing between Carnival and another line, the independent surveys on our published ratings page are a better guide than any one line’s internal scores, which are not made public. For the Caribbean ports Carnival visits, Caribbean Cruise Ports lists shore activities port by port.

A Fair Carnival Review Starts Before You Sail

Most disappointing scores come from a mismatch, not a bad ship: a guest expecting a quiet, adults-focused week on a lively, family-heavy sailing, or someone who did not realise which extras cost more. Carnival is a fun, value-focused line with a strong family following. If that sounds like you, you are likely to be among the happy guests. If you are unsure, ask us — our cruise advisors at Mister Cruise will tell you honestly whether Carnival, or a different line, fits the way you like to travel.
